Implants
All-on-4
A full set of fixed teeth on a few implants
All-on-4 replaces a full upper or lower arch of teeth with a fixed bridge held by four implants, sometimes more. It doesn’t come out at night like a denture. For many people with failing teeth or a loose denture, it means eating and smiling with confidence again.

What it is
All-on-4 is a way to replace all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Instead of one implant for every tooth, a full bridge of teeth is attached to a small number of implants, usually four, placed at carefully planned angles to make good use of the bone that remains. Where the bone allows, more implants may be used.
Unlike a traditional denture, the bridge is fixed in place and is only removed by the dentist for maintenance. It usually doesn’t cover the roof of the mouth, which many people find more comfortable. The implants also give the jawbone something to support, which a denture resting on the gums does not.
The case is planned on a 3D CBCT scan: each implant is placed virtually and the new teeth previewed before treatment begins. The bridge itself is designed and made in-house. Whether All-on-4 suits you depends on your bone, gums and general health, and a consultation settles it.
It may be right for you if
- You’re missing most or all of the teeth in one or both jaws
- Your remaining teeth are badly decayed, loose or failing
- Your denture slips, rubs or makes it hard to eat
- You want fixed teeth rather than ones you take out at night
- You’d like an option that leaves the roof of your mouth uncovered
What to expect
01
Consultation and 3D planning
Dr. Hazaveh examines your mouth, reviews your health and takes a CBCT scan to see the bone, nerves and sinuses in 3D. The implants are planned on that scan, and you leave with a clear plan for timing and cost.
02
Preparing the mouth
Any remaining teeth that can’t be saved are removed, and any infection is treated. Depending on your case, this may happen at the same visit as the implants or a little beforehand.
03
Placing the implants
The implants are placed in the jaw to the plan while the area is numbed. Anaesthesia and any sedation options are discussed at your consultation. Whether a temporary bridge is fitted the same day depends on your case.
04
Healing
Over the next few months the implants bond with the bone. During this time you’ll eat softer foods and come in for check visits, so Dr. Hazaveh can make sure everything is settling well.
05
Your final teeth
Once healing is complete, your final bridge is designed around your bite, face and smile and made in-house. It’s attached securely to the implants and adjusted until it feels comfortable and natural.
Living with your new teeth
Expect some swelling and tenderness for the first week, and a soft diet for longer while the implants heal. Your new arch is cleaned every day like natural teeth, with extra attention where the bridge meets the gum. Regular professional cleanings help protect the implants for the long term.
- Follow the soft-food plan you’re given until Dr. Hazaveh says otherwise
- Clean under and around the bridge daily, using the tools you’re shown
- Avoid smoking, which can slow healing and put implants at risk
- Keep every review and cleaning appointment
- Mention any grinding habit, as a night guard may help protect the bridge

Most patients want to know this first. Whether temporary teeth can be fitted on the same day as the implants depends on your bone and your case. Dr. Hazaveh will explain the plan for your situation at your consultation, so you know in advance.
A denture rests on the gums and is taken out to clean. An All-on-4 bridge is fixed to implants, so it doesn’t slip and isn’t removed at home. It also usually leaves the roof of the mouth uncovered, which many people find more comfortable.
Often, yes. Angling the implants can make good use of the bone that remains, and the 3D scan shows exactly where that bone is. In some cases a bone graft or a different plan is needed. The scan and examination at your consultation will show what’s possible for you.
You brush it twice a day like natural teeth and clean underneath it with tools such as a water flosser or small brushes. You’ll be shown how. Regular professional visits let the dentist check the implants and clean areas that are hard to reach.
Dr. Hazaveh is a CareCredit provider, so monthly payments may be possible, subject to CareCredit approval. The cost depends on your plan, and it’s explained clearly at your consultation before any treatment begins.
